: Mt. Sierra College currently offers On-Campus course delivery for our Telecommunications Degree.
Instant availability of current and pertinent information is the goal of Telecommunications. Telecommunications is the electric transmission of information in the form of voice, sound, data, facsimiles, pictures, or video across a distance from a sender to receiver in a usable and understandable format using either analog or digital techniques. Voice communication, known as telephony, allows people to communicate with each other.
Networking and Internet concepts such as TCP/IP and the open systems interconnection (OSI) model are learned in detail. Data communication focuses on machines communicating with other machines via a system of computers and networks. Networking allows computers to communicate with other computers either locally (LAN's), nationally (WAN's) or via the Internet.
The Telecommunications program includes management of networking systems, computer networking, C++ language, Internet/intranet design, wireless technologies and project management. Students are prepared for careers in network administration, telecommunications systems analysis and management, information management, and network and traffic engineering. |
