: This degree is designed to study the threats and use of Unconventional Warfare; it includes historical and contemporary coverage of the discipline across a range of topical areas. Those topics include, but are not limited to, terrorism, unconventional warfare, revolution, insurgency and counterinsurgency, peacekeeping, and weapons of mass destruction.Students are afforded a great degree of choice among the courses taken towards the degree objectives in order to provide knowledge most relevant to issues faced by the student in the professional world or material most suited to higher academic interests. Of interest to many students in this program is the opportunity to earn Certificates with the United Nations en route to completing certain AMU Unconventional Warfare courses. Other students from the special operations community find the AMU Challenge Examinations related to the Special Forces Detachment Officer Qualification Course of interest; these courses enable the student to complete one or two major courses while reading and writing from a condensed course list. |
