The Non-Traditional Doctor of Pharmacy Degree Program at the University of Cincinnati is designed to provide a mechanism for US Licensed Pharmacists with an undergraduate Degree in Pharmacy to obtain the Doctor of Pharmacy Degree.
This Distance Learning Program recognizes the need of the pharmacist to continue to work while completing course requirements for the degree. The program will be offered in a non-traditional format using a combination of Internet/Computer training and Evening or Weekend class meetings.
Prior practice experience will be evaluated and may result in a reduction in the total number of hours of experiential training that is required for graduation. |

The College of Pharmacy offers a professional curriculum for a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.). The Doctor of Pharmacy degree is a four-year professional program offered in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando and St. Petersburg.
The Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum offered by faculty on the Gainesville campus will be reproduced in an asynchronous format for students in the off-campus sites. Faculty at the off-campus sites will facilitate discussion groups, administer examinations, answer questions, and provide instruction as needed to supplement the distance education program. A support staff in student affairs will be available at each campus site. |

Graduates of the Doctor of Pharmacy program will perform functions consistent with the elements described in the categories for patient care functions and education of health professionals and the public published in the Standards of Practice established by the American Pharmaceutical Association/American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Pharmacists who complete this program will meet the same terminal performance objectives as students who complete the College’s ‘traditional’ Doctor of Pharmacy program.
Graduates will be able to provide a system of drug use evaluation resulting in comprehensive patient services. Doctor of Pharmacy degree graduates will enhance their ability to successfully adapt to the changing health care delivery system. |
