The program includes courses from the Department of Environmental Engineering, the College of Law, and the Food and Resource Economics Department of the College of Agriculture.
Individuals working in, or interested in learning more about, environmental policy and management can become certified in a body of knowledge in these specializations without formally pursuing graduate degrees if they so desire. Today, businesses are confronted with a flood of regulations emanating from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency that can swamp those companies unprepared for the ever changing torrent of rules and regulations. We designed our Certified Environmental Compliance Manager (CECM) program, specifically for those responsible for navigating through the sometimes tricky waters of regulatory compliance. Certification programs are probably more common in the safety and environmental fields than any other. They are simple, accurate measure of acquired knowledge and professional conduct and are readily recognized and accepted by those within the compliance industry. Until the CECM, most certifications dealt solely with hazardous waste clean up and spill response, none focused specifically on workplace regulations of businesses.
The growth of career opportunities and the demand for qualified professionals has increased the need for education in the Environmental Safety fields. Professional Safety and Environmental certifications are highly recognized due to ever increasing regulations and the demand for current and accurate specialized knowledge. Companies must have assistance to comply with OSHA and EPA regulations. Certification gives you a professional edge and helps assure your client or employer of your qualifications.
The Certified Environmental Compliance Manager (CECM) program is made up of four modules. The focus of the first two modules is safety regulations. Modules three and four deal exclusively with environmental regulations. An open book exam at the end of each completed module will demonstrate your grasp of the material covered. A final comprehensive examination is taken following completion of all module exams. Upon satisfactory completion of
the final examination you will be awarded your CECM designation. |
