The Unix and Linux Training courses is a series of four courses that allows students to prepare for a career as a Unix or Linux system administrator. Throughout the series, students, using the power of the internet, will operate and use real Linux machines. They will have root and console access to these machines online, gaining true Unix experience as they learn about Unix and Linux.
These Unix and Linux training courses combine the flexibility of online learning with the richness of personal mentoring. In each course, students, under the guidance of an online instructor, learn and perform actual Unix administration tasks while learning online. The online environment includes chat rooms, interactive programming, quizzes, and projects.
Students who successfully complete all four courses will receive a certificate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
