Program Detail	: This course introduces the student to assessment and management of common breastfeeding concerns in the mother's initial learning process. Students will be encouraged to critically examine their breastfeeding knowledge base, attitudes, and biases. Discussions will be based on current research findings. Emphasis is placed on examining how to establish a "Baby Friendly" environment in the hospital and community. Information will be distributed in class for those students interested in writing the Lactation Consultants Certification Exams. Approved for 15L Contact CERPS and 15L Independent CERPS by IBLCE.
