Program Detail	: The student will examine the process, assessment and management of labour and birth within a family centred framework. Pain will be examined considering theories regarding management, and a variety of holistic and non-invasive strategies. Labour support will focus on intrapartum measures, which can be utilized by health professionals and significant others, and will be demonstrated and practiced in a classroom lab setting. Discussions will be based on evidenced-based practice. Note: A one-day classroom lab is required for online learning students. Special permission is required from the instructor for those who cannot attend.
