Program Detail	: This course is a combination of in-class lectures, discussions, two (2) out-of-class scrapbook assignments, a research assignment and computer-based training (CBT) modules on Microsoft Word. The purpose of this course is to introduce the student to computer information systems with an emphasis on the hardware and software and basic Microsoft Windows knowledge (maintaining storage locations, backup disks, diaries of work completed, etc.) and Microsoft Word 2000. This course will provide terminology along with the basic concepts of computer input devices, processing concepts, and output devices. Students will also be introduced to the Internet and web pages through the use of the course WebCT site.
