: This course provides the student with an overview of cultural diversity and its impact on society. It examines cultural pluralism both in the U.S. and internationally and offers the student an opportunity to learn about the implications of cultural diversity, the challenges it imposes, and why it is so important in our contemporary world. This course is intended to promote awareness and appreciation of cultural diversity and will emphasize attitudes and competencies that are important in effective personal and professional relationships. Topics include introduction to domestic and world cultures, introduction to world religions, cultural differences, future trends in diversity, multi-culturalism, and diversity in the work place. Students will consistently be involved in discussions, learning projects, writings, guest speakers and videos related to the culture. |
