Program Detail	: This course provides an introduction to perceptual cognition as well as the study of how humans organize and interpret stimulation arising from objects in the environment and internal mental states. The content includes a review of theory, methodology, and research findings. The main purpose of this course is to give students an introduction to the processes by which we perceive the world. The focus will be on the psychological aspects of perception, particularly visual perception. In addition to studying the theoretical underpinnings of perception, students will become familiar with research in the area of perceptual and cognitive psychology. Illustrative case studies will also be explored, particularly with regard to disorders of perception.
