| Program Detail | : Disinformation "involves the dissemination of incomplete, inaccurate, or otherwise misleading information with the objective, goal or aim of deceiving others about the truth." This course will address the various methods by which the public is mislead by public and private organizations. Employing a basic business intelligence format to gather information, students will identify potential and/or probable ''disinformation'' items in various news stories and/or articles with respect to a specific organization. Ethics and Dr. Fetzer''s "degrees" of disinformation will be discussed as well as organizations who combat public disinformation. At the conclusion of the course students will write a basic plan for a company to identify ethical, proactive ways of dealing with disinformation. | |||
