| Program Detail | : This course is a study of the political, economic, social, and cultural development of the United States from the beginning of the Vietnam War to the Present (1st quarter, 2002). Topics include social and cultural changes in the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s; the United States foreign policy from the "Cold War," and the global confrontation between the United States and the communist world to Somalia, Grenada, Haiti, and the Gulf War to the most recent "War on Terrorism"; and the technological changes and their impact on social and economical changes and development of the United States. Upon completion students should be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the history of the United States from 1970 to the present. | |||
