The course's primary focus is on the operational environment in Afghanistan and its border regions. Specifically, the course will analyze the current governmental structure and assess the challenges it faces in establishing law and order. The student will also distinguish the tribal organizations and relevant areas controlled, as well as the relationship between the tribes and the nascent government authority. The course is especially recommended for students who expect to be assigned to the region as a military, government, or Non-Governmental-Organization (NGO) representative. | |||
