| Program Detail | : This course seeks to develop a comprehensive understanding of the major types of environmental issues and requirements facing public and private managers today. In addition to the traditional air, water, groundwater, and soil issues, students will explore land use, brownfields development and the development of sprawl, risk assessment, cost-effectiveness analysis of competing remediation strategies, pollution prevention, pretreatment, and environmental management systems. Environmental permitting, compliance, and enforcement will be explored. The culminating class exercise will deal with one particular environmental management system and alternatives to it. | |||
