| Program Detail | : This course is a study of George Washington's and his lieutenants' leadership, character, and military makeup from the time of his appointment as Commander of the Continental Army to his farewell at the end of the American Revolution. Students will cover the following chief lieutenants alongside Washington: Nathaniel Greene, Benedict Arnold, Charles Lee, Horatio Gates, and Marquis de Lafeyette, among others. The course topics will include general comparative assessments among the Generals, appraisal of each as a leader, evaluation of each leader under different leadership circumstances such as under direct supervision and independent command, and the individual impact of each on the events and outcomes of the American Revolution. | |||
