| Program Detail | : This course is a study of the history of aviation in the United States Army from 1861 to present day. By extension, portions of this course comprise a study of the early history of the United States Air Force as well. To avoid redundancy with other course offerings, and to properly acknowledge the tactical and operational nature of Army aviation, this course does not address the development and employment of strategic airpower. Additionally, its side-steps a detailed operational history of Army aviation, as this subject is also adequately covered in other courses. Students will, however, examine individual operational case studies in pursuit of course learning objectives. | |||
