| Name | : Practicum I | |||
| Program | : Humanities & Liberal Arts | |||
| Program Detail | : Having completed the majority of both didactic and skill based training in the degree program, the Learner is now admitted into Practicum with a focus on individuals, couples, families, and groups. It is presumed that the Learner is far enough along in the program of study to anticipate a practicum match with the clientele addressed in the practicum setting. This practicum class is the first of two that Learners may take. Learners are responsible for finding their own outside supervised clinical experience, to be monitored by the mentor. The course provides Learners with an opportunity to engage in on-going therapeutic practice. An emphasis is placed on case management and therapeutic integration as the cases develop over a course's time. The intention of practicum is to "grow" the therapist. The supervisor will manage the cases with the Learner. | |||
