: The effects of violent behavior are becoming increasingly apparent in contemporary life. Incidences of violence range from domestic abuse to worldwide terrorism and run the gamut from verbal abuse to technological warfare and destruction. The growing presence of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder speaks to the impact which violence has on individuals and on society as a whole. In this course, the learner will become aware of the many dynamics of violence and the impact on the individuals whom they serve. Learners will explore current research regarding violence and learn prevention and treatment strategies to use in both professional and personal settings. |
