Human behavior and development are examined using a life course and social systems approach. Special emphasis is given to the person-in-the environment, and examining behaviors during the life-cycle as a function of bio-psychosocial processes. The influence of human diversity, including factors such as culture, race, ethnicity, gender, class, socioeconomic status, religion, and sexual orientation are also examined.
