Effectiveness refers to the tone of the language: passionate, but not emotional. How strongly the writer makes the argument is important. Elegance implies writing with simplicity and grace, eliminating wordiness and meaningless words, with clear and concise expression as the goal. Through discussion and written exercises, learners will develop skills in these two areas.
