: This course describes the problems being solved by Web Services and the common architectural concepts used to solve them. Web Services utilize computing resources in a distributed computing environment within Web Applications and are supported through both the Microsoft .NET framework and extensions to the J2EE environment. The use of technologies common to both solutions will be presented including Web Services Description Language (WSDL), XML and SOAP. Learners will examine the .NET architecture and the tools provided by Microsoft to enable generation of and utilization of Web Services (ASP+, Visual Studio .NET, VBasic.NET). Learners will also explore how other vendors (BEA, SUN, IBM) support Web Services through Java technology (Java Web Services). |
