Program Detail	: To be successful, human resources departments must build a strategic operation to meet the changing business environment and add value to the corporation. This online course focuses on the key business issues that will affect productivity and effective delivery of human resources services in the future--strategic partnerships, globalization, cross-functional teams and team-based work, core competencies, re-engineering, the virtual workplace, and the changing workforce. The course also covers identification of key customer needs; ways to position HR to meet customer requirements; and such tools as process analysis, staffing redesign, and the use of advanced technology. Through lectures, case studies, and discussion, students examine what these issues will mean to organizations and receive guidance on ways HR professionals can structure their roles/departments to become strategic partners in effective change.
