: Organizations increasingly turn to project management as a formal discipline to insure success in accomplishing their objectives. This online course focuses on the fundamental concepts, processes, and practices of project management and is intended for anyone who may be assigned to manage a project in any organization. After taking this course, students can expect to take on the role of project manager with greater self-confidence and skill. Individual assignments and a group case study enable students to gain a detailed understanding of project planning, execution, and closure. Practices and terminology learned in this course are consistent with ANSI standards. Topics include the role of project manager, project management terminology, and triple constraint; projection initiation, execution, and closure; project estimating, scheduling, and tracking; change control; managing assumptions, risks, and issues; project leadership and communications; and project management software tools. |
