| Program Detail | : This is a comprehensive course on the topics of analytical and experimental development of design and production tolerances. The course covers worst case and statistical tolerance analysis, 6 Sigma methods for tolerancing, Monte Carlo simulation sensitivity analysis of systems and Taguchi's approach to tolerance design. Special emphasis will be given to developing tolerances for complex aggregations of technologies. System tolerance and cost balancing are covered in detail. The use of tolerance design in critical parameter management will be covered. Students will conduct a project in computer-aided tolerance analysis. | |||
