| The Department of Finance at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign has developed a series of courses in the area of Financial Engineering and Risk Management that are offered over the Internet on a for-credit basis. The area of financial engineering and risk management, the use of financial derivative instruments to manage risk, is relatively new. Especially new in this area is the application of financial engineering and risk management to an expanding universe of business settings. Business people who were educated as recently as five years ago are not likely to have obtained a sufficient education in this area to be able to cope with the technical requirements to understand and use financial engineering and risk management in their businesses. The program is designed to bring to these professional people the necessary knowledge and skills to increase their effectiveness as managers of and users of financial derivatives. | |||||||||||||||

| The Continuation Curriculum Option (CCO) pathway to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree is designed to provide the opportunity for baccalaureate pharmacists to earn the PharmD in a nontraditional instructional format while maintaining their professional practice. The core curriculum of this program has been designed to ensure that matriculants achieve equivalence in expected competencies equal to entry-level Doctor of Pharmacy degree candidates. The program is comprised of twenty-three semester hours of didactic coursework and twenty semester hours of clinical clerkship to total forty-three semester hours.
