The Designing and Implementing Web-based Learning Environments (WLE) Certification program is for K-12 teachers, higher education instructors, and corporate instructional developers -- anyone interested in learning how to develop Web-based learning environments. Provided by the Information and Learning Technologies (ILT) program in the School of Education at the University of Colorado at Denver (UCD), this online, graduate-level program is designed for people who:

- Are eager to apply Web technologies in their training or classroom environments.

- Are highly motivated to learn the tools and techniques for success in this field.

- Enjoy collaborative learning.

- Like to be involved in dynamic project-based learning activities that are immediately relevant and applicable to their training and school environments.

- Want to become Web site development leaders and mentors in their workplace.

- Have little or no previous Web development experience.

This Certification program is also appropriate for people with differing levels of previous credentialing:

This course is designed for world history teachers and instructors who wish to enhance their knowledge of world history content and pedagogy. If taken in total, the course is comparable to a college survey course in world history plus teaching guides.

The course is divided into 8 modules or chronological eras. Teachers may wish to participate in any one or several of the modules as their interest and needs dictate. One hour or graduate history credit will be granted for successful completion of each module. Each module is designed to take about 6-8 weeks of online independent study.
