University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL), also known as Louisiana-Lafayette is a university located in Lafayette, Louisiana, and is a member of the University of Louisiana System. ULL was founded 1900 as the Southwestern Louisiana Industrial Institute. In 1960, the institution gained university status and became the University of Southwestern Louisiana or USL; in 1999, the university became known by its present name.
Louisiana-Lafayette's colors are red, black and white and their nickname is the Ragin' Cajuns. Louisiana-Lafayette sports teams participate in NCAA Division I (I-A for football) in the Sun Belt Conference. |
